Give both facility addresses, patient position, expected stops and the receiving institution’s available hour. A route between neighbouring cities differs from a journey crossing provinces and perhaps an overnight interruption. Ask the treating clinician whether prolonged road movement is appropriate and what support is required. The road operator must confirm crew, equipment and permissible duty plan for this route, not simply quote a base fare. If a hospital has not accepted the patient, a driving estimate cannot be described as a complete transfer booking.

Ask what the rate includes

A provider may count staff duty, vehicle return, tolls, fuel, overnight accommodation, oxygen or equipment differently. Request a written component list and ask whether unloading into a ward is included. A quote ending at a city boundary or hospital gate is not equivalent to a ward-to-ward transfer. Count the full duty cycle

A long road transfer quote should account for where the crew starts, how long it remains responsible, planned rest or replacement, vehicle return and equipment endurance. Ask whether meals, accommodation, tolls or a second driver are required for the actual route under the supplier’s plan. If a receiving ward closes before the projected arrival, waiting or overnight care is a different service decision, not merely an extra kilometre.
