The overseas treating team should communicate the required continuity of care and the planned next dialysis date to a receiving medical provider. A ground transport booking does not create a dialysis appointment or determine when travel is clinically appropriate.

Choose a real first destination

Specify whether the patient will go directly to a hospital that has agreed to assess or treat them, another appropriate facility or a residence under a clinician-approved plan. A preferred hospital or centre has to confirm its own ability to receive the patient.

Describe needs during the road segment

Communicate mobility, any clinician-requested monitoring or oxygen and the estimated length of the airport-to-destination trip to the transport provider. Do not infer the correct vehicle from the diagnosis alone; the clinical and operating teams assess the actual requirements.

Keep treatment records private and reachable

Arrange for the appropriate receiving clinician to obtain relevant medical information through a private channel. Record the overseas treating contact, China receiving provider and flight escort, and a plan if the flight or treatment schedule changes.

Can a coordinator guarantee a dialysis chair after landing?

No. The receiving dialysis provider must decide acceptance and treatment timing.

Does dialysis automatically mean an ambulance is necessary?

The treating team and local provider assess mobility and support needs for the actual journey.
