Korean Air medical clearance for China journeys
A China journey on Korean Air can be booked before the clinical and carriage questions are resolved. The traveller needs a plan for the actual operating flight, any special assistance, ground transfer and receiving care.
What this carrier actually publishes
Korean Air publishes a medical-services page linking MEDIF and consent material for requests including in-flight medical attention and stretcher. This is the airline’s decision process, not a promise of acceptance. Determine which current form or booking channel applies to the exact requested support.
MEDIF and consent are different documents
Korean Air links a MEDIF and privacy-consent material on its medical-services page. Identify the treating doctor who completes clinical information and the person authorised to submit it. The family should ask what the Korean Air review covers for in-flight attention, oxygen or a stretcher, and what remains a separate ground assignment. A Seoul transit introduces a second handover; the escort, baggage and equipment must be matched to the actual arrival and onward boarding sequence.
MEDIF submission and consent
Korean Air’s medical-services page links the MEDIF and privacy-consent material. Identify the treating doctor completing clinical information and the person authorised to send it. Ask the airline which requested service actually requires review: in-flight attention, oxygen, a stretcher or another support. The consent step addresses information handling; it does not replace a carrier decision on service or seating.
Clinical assessment is separate
The treating clinician assesses whether the proposed flight and transfers are appropriate for this person now, including seating, positioning and any prescribed oxygen or equipment. Korean Air determines whether it can carry the traveller and provide or accept the requested arrangements. Neither the coordinator nor a website can substitute for either decision.
Seoul transfer after a China departure
A patient discharged from a China hospital may need a ground medical leg before Korean Air boarding, then a Seoul transit and an onward receiver. Write down who has the personal wheelchair and medical equipment after the first flight. If the onward operator differs, recheck its forms and accepted support. The destination vehicle must meet the final aircraft arrival, not a China departure estimate.
If the plan changes
After a medical review, changes to the operating carrier, aircraft, support needs or patient condition must be raised with the clinician and Korean Air before travel. Reconfirm the road booking and receiver against the revised itinerary. Do not send medical records through the public enquiry box; use an authorised direct channel.
Decision pathway
Complete the current Korean Air MEDIF/consent process where applicable, obtain its service decision, then separately confirm Seoul assistance and final ground receipt. Do not infer approval from a form acknowledgement.
Information for a useful first enquiry
Korean Air flight sectors, requested oxygen/stretcher or in-flight attention, treating doctor and authorised submitter, MEDIF decision, Seoul support, destination pickup contact.
For detailed clinical records, use a direct authorised exchange rather than this public page.

Tell us where, when and what support is needed
A short description of the route and support required is enough to start. Send any case details directly by email, not through a public webpage.
