How to request a medical transport quote in China

“Medical transport in China” is too broad for a usable price. A quotation must specify who moves the patient, over which route, with what support and to which receiver.

Describe function and endpoints

Provide the precise origin and destination, date window, road or flight segments, and whether the traveller can sit, transfer with help or requires a stretcher. Note clinician-specified oxygen or observation without sending a full medical record in public. The destination could be a ward, clinic, home or airport public meeting point; each means a different end of responsibility. Ask the receiver whether it will accept the person at the expected hour. A street address alone does not establish a clinical handover or a vehicle’s right to enter.

Ask providers for equivalent scope

Compare the actual crew, vehicle, equipment, staff duty, transfer assistance, companion seats, luggage capacity and both handovers. A quote from hospital entrance to airport curb should not be compared with bed-to-ward delivery as if identical. The supplier should name who will dispatch and where it can meet the airline or hospital. ChinaMedTransfer can coordinate enquiries among parties; it does not guarantee ownership or availability of ambulances nationwide. Ask the operator to confirm the particular date and patient needs before representing a provisional amount as bookable.

Reveal the conditions on the price

Ask about waiting if discharge slips, flight delay, extra road distance, destination change, cancellation and payment method. An insurer or assistance company may authorise only one element; a hospital GOP is not a transport purchase order. State which clinical, carrier or receiving approvals remain open and when a new quote is required. The first email should permit an initial scope assessment; detailed clinical information can then travel directly through an authorised channel. A quote is useful when the family can see its inclusions, exclusions and next decision owner.

Define the transport unit

State whether the estimate is for one city road leg, a long intercity vehicle, airport interface or a whole journey with multiple suppliers. Include origin/destination addresses, stairs, mobility, equipment, staff, timing, expected waiting and companion space. Obtain the actual provider’s written acceptance, not just an approximate fee from a coordinator. If the destination hospital is not ready, mark both scope and price conditional. A revised oxygen or stretcher requirement needs a revised supplier assessment and often a new quote.

Decision pathway

If route and support are known, obtain comparable conditional quotes. Confirm the clinician, receiver and actual supplier decisions before dispatch; revise the quote when material inputs change.

A short description of the route and support required is enough to start. Send any case details directly by email, not through a public webpage.
