Get the flight operator’s actual handover proposal

The overseas aeromedical provider should identify the landing airport, proposed arrival time, aircraft-side medical team and patient handling needs. Ask the provider which airport arrangements it has requested and what has actually been approved; a flight plan alone does not grant a road crew access to the aircraft.

Separate permission from vehicle availability

Airport, border, customs and relevant authorities govern the controlled part of the arrival. Ground vehicle and staff must be confirmed separately for the permitted pickup point. The China coordinator can help align parties but cannot authorise exceptional clearance.

Match clinical continuity

The flight clinician should state what oxygen, monitoring, airway support or personnel the patient requires during transfer to the road vehicle and on the drive. The local transport team must confirm its equipment and competence for those requirements; gaps go back to clinical decision makers before dispatch.

Secure the receiving endpoint

Record the hospital department or other destination, receiving contact and acceptance time. Agree how a diversion, flight delay or changed patient condition reaches every team. An air ambulance landing in China does not imply a particular hospital will admit the patient.

Can a private ambulance enter the apron?

Only if relevant authorities approve that case and the vehicle and staff satisfy the applicable requirements. Do not infer access from an operator’s marketing page.

Who decides whether the hospital is ready?

The receiving institution, not the flight or road operator, confirms how it will receive the patient.
