Commercial air travel with medical needs: plan each handover
A scheduled flight can be one part of a medically supported journey. The clinical assessment, operating airline's acceptance, airport assistance and ground transfer require different decisions and different contacts.

Start with the whole journey
Map the sending facility or home, road journey to the airport, check-in and security, flight and any connection, arrival procedures, ground pickup and confirmed receiving destination. Name the responsible party and reachable contact at each handover. A booking on its own does not establish a receiving bed or an airport handover point.
Separate three decisions
The treating physician assesses clinical condition and documents support needs. The operating airline decides whether and under what conditions it will accept the traveller, including any medical clearance. A China-side coordinator can help align local ground support and communication; it cannot certify fitness to fly or approve carriage.
Escort and mobility support are different
An airline or airport wheelchair service helps with movement through an airport and boarding as offered by the relevant provider. A medical escort is a separately arranged professional accompanying the patient when assessed and accepted for travel. Neither automatically includes an appropriate vehicle, oxygen supply or receiving facility on arrival.
Oxygen, devices and commercial stretchers
If oxygen, a portable oxygen concentrator, other medical devices or a stretcher is proposed, discuss clinical needs with the treating team and obtain the operating carrier's current equipment, documentation and acceptance conditions. Onboard supply and ground supply are separate arrangements. A stretcher on a scheduled flight requires carrier-specific approval and logistics; it is not equivalent to an air ambulance.
MEDIF / MEDA and the clearance sequence
Airlines may use a medical information form (MEDIF) or a medical assistance process often labelled MEDA to review a request. Terms, forms and triggers differ among carriers. Obtain the actual operating carrier's form; ask the treating doctor to complete clinical sections where requested; wait for airline confirmation before treating an itinerary as settled.
China-side pickup after arrival
Agree whether the airport-side meeting point is in public arrivals or another expressly approved location. Confirm flight and connection details, mobility or equipment handover, escorts and luggage, destination acceptance, and a fallback contact for delays. Ground staff cannot assume access to aircraft, secure areas or hospital wards.

A short description of the route and support required is enough to start. Send any case details directly by email, not through a public webpage.
